About.
Hadley Perkins is a writer and director — investigating the unfolding mystery of the nature of things.
His debut short Murphed (2023) won Best Director and Best Editor at the Far South Film Festival, and the SAE Creative Media Institute Award for Emerging Talent at Byron All Shorts. His latest short, Strange Attractor (2025), is a proof of concept for his debut feature — Jack Russell: We never talk about the mongrels — currently in development under his independent banner, Filmbakers.
He works with a tight collaborative crew including DP Nolan Verheij, production designer Jess Lee Foote, and producer Jasper Sharpe. Beyond film, he runs writing groups, designs locally-made clothing, and runs discussion groups.
